Saturday October 10, 2015 from 12:00 - 4:00 the Lakewood Fire Department will host an open house. This year we are celebrating the 100 year anniversary of our Model T Ford Chemical Truck.

There will be several demonstrations related to Fire and EMS activities.  Our EMT's will be on hand to take your blood pressure. All of our memebers will be available to answer any questions you may have regarding the Fire Department or our operations. If you have interest in joining, please ask any of our memebers. We always can use new people.

During the afternoon there will be hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks served.  Fire Truck Rides will also be available for the Kids.

The Lakewood Fire Department and the Village of Lakewood have signed a contract with Spartan ERV to purchase a 2015 Rescue Pumper. This new Pumper will be designated as Engine 371. The existing 1999 American LaFrance Pumper that is currently Engine 371 will be redesignated as Engine 372. Our 1993 Sutphen Pumper Engine 373 will be removed from service and sold.

The new Rescue Pumper will be a fully enclosed body design with full height compartments on both sides, and top side compartments that will open from the top. The new Rescue Pumper will come with a 1500 GPM Hale Pump, 1000 Gallon Poly water tank, a 15KW hydraulic generator, fully remote control deck gun, and a 6000W light tower. It will be powered by a Cummiins ISX 500 HP engine with an Allison Automatic transmission.

The truck committee recently went to the Spartan ERV factory in Brandon South Dakota for the pre-construction meeting. Delivery is expected sometime Early 2016.
